Bellevue College is accepting applications from prospective students for its newest bachelor’s degree, Healthcare Information Technology. The program will begin this fall. Those who want to learn more about the program can attend one of several upcoming information sessions at 6 p.m. June 5, 13, 18 and 29, all on college campus.

The new degree is the college’s third four-year degree. The program plans to enroll 30 students in courses taught primarily online, with preference given to those who apply by July 1, 2012.

The program is expected to benefit students entering the fast-growing health IT workforce. With the computerization of health records, providers increasingly rely on information systems to manage patient information and other healthcare data.
