Bellevue ‘Community Treasures’ featured on television show

To highlight the people and places that make Bellevue a distinctive and desirable place, the monthly television show “It’s Your City” now includes a “Community Treasures” feature.

The debut “Bellevue Community Treasures” segment, part of the November episode of “It’s Your City,” focuses on the work of Somerset Women for Medic One, an organization which has raised money for paramedic training and equipment for more than 35 years.

Assistance during the recession, tips on driving in ice and snow and Magic Season downtown are also featured in this month’s “It’s Your City.”

The show will air several times now through Jan. 5 on Bellevue Television (Cable Channel 21) or any time from the city’s website

All of the segments can be seen individually also on Bellevue’s YouTube channel.

“It’s Your City” is a magazine show featuring services, events and other items of interest in Bellevue. The show is produced under the direction of the City Manager’s office.

Bellevue TV, Bellevue’s government access cable channel, features City Council meetings, arts, and cultural, educational and other information for residents, businesses and visitors. It also provides coverage of the Legislature, local community events and special programming on issues of importance to residents.

The city operates Bellevue TV in a partnership with Bellevue College, with student crews provide staffing support, while gaining hands-on training.
