Bellevue firefighters hit the streets full force in Clyde Hill last weekend to collect $17,283 in donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Passing motorists readily filled the boots with everything from spare change to $100 bills.
All of the money collected went directly to helping local kids and adults living with Muscular Dystrophy. The money raised goes towards the treatment, research, equipment and summer camp for the kids. Firefighters collected the money on their own time.
The International Association of Fire Fighters has been a major contributor to MDA for more than 50 years through “Fill the Boot” campaigns. Firefighters also volunteer as summer camp counselors, helping campers do fun things they can’t always do.
