Bellevue groups get grants

A number of Bellevue organizations have received grants from Eastside Community Aid Thrift Shop in Kirkland.

Youth Eastside Services (YES) has received a $5,000 grant for its mental health services for children and their families.

Assistance League of the Eastside received $5,000 for its Operation School Bell providing new clothes for K-9th grade children.

Eastside Domestic Violence received $5,000 for its crisis hot line.

Lake Heights Family YMCA received $2,000 for its summer youth programs at the Y.

Eastside Legal Assistance Program received $5,000 for legal assistance for low income people.

Sophia’s Way received $5,000 toward housing for homeless women.

Eastside Community Aid Thrift Shop located at 12451 116th Ave. NE in Kirkland, is an all volunteer run shop whose proceeds are donated back into the community through grants and scholarships.  Volunteers are always needed.

Clean, resalable donations can be dropped off at the shop during business hours Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information is available by calling 425-825-1877.
