Now in its 28th year, the Bellevue Home Show will bring new features and a new attitude when it opens at the Meydenbauer Center on Jan. 22. Eastside homeowners will find a strong emphasis on “green” – in building, remodeling, food, financial matters and creative opportunities. Over 150 local exhibitors represent the entire scope of the building, remodeling and interior design industries, plus a few surprises!

Here are some Home Show high points:

On the Albert Lee Appliance Cooking Stage, well-known Eastside chefs will demonstrate their favorite recipes. Also on hand will be Carol Dearth of Sizzleworks Cooking School and host of the KCTS COOKS programs.

In the Sustainable Living section, experts in all phases of “green” living and environmental energy efficiency will be on hand to answer questions and help clear up the confusion.

Start with Art II will feature 12 Northwest artists presenting a show of wide proportions, including paintings, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture and hand-blown glass. On-site classes will be offered; watch for details.

The fourth floor of the center will feature a dedicated room for the WIPLIANCE home entertainment center designed to help you keep your family at home by enjoying music and movies on your own time.

The Green Car Company will give an electric bike to the winner of the Tour Passport contest.

Also, there will be seminars to educate, enlighten and inform – all related to your financial and economical wellbeing, sponsored by BECU.

The show will run from Jan. 22-24 with doors opening at 10 a.m. each day. Tickets are $5-$8. Meydenbauer Center is located at 11100 N.E. 6th, Bellevue.
