It was the best disappointment of Jason Rudzinski’s life.

He didn’t win the historic $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot using the numbers he picked at the 148th Avenue Northeast Fred Meyer in Bellevue. But he was able to console himself with the winning $2 million scratch ticket he bought at the same store.

Rudzinski is a lifelong Washingtonian who lives with his wife in Bellevue. He runs a business in Bellevue and is a weekend photographer. Some of his winnings will go to buy new lenses for his camera.

“Unless we win Powerball, we’re not shopping for new Ferraris,” he said to the Washington Lottery.

He plans to celebrate with his wife with a dinner at John Howie Steak in Bellevue.
