The city of Bellevue is one of the most diverse in the state, according to a new ranking released last week.

In a national analysis performed by WalletHub, Bellevue was found to be more diverse than Everett, Seattle, Tacoma and Vancouver, and major cities such as Newark, NJ; Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Nationally, Bellevue was ranked 87th, while it placed 28th among mid-size cities across the country.

“America is undergoing an extreme makeover, thanks to rapid demographic diversification. By 2050, you won’t even recognize her. But diversification is nothing to be feared. In fact, economic growth follows it. America would not enjoy such unrivaled economic success if not for the waves of immigration that both changed the face of the nation and accelerated financial and social mobility,” the analysis stated.
