Bad boy, bad boys, whatcha gonna do? Bellevue citizens are coming for you.
The Bellevue Police Department opened up to applications for its spring Community Academy Wednesday morning.
The Community Academy is a 12-week program to acquaint Bellevue residents with the procedure and methodology of municipal law enforcement.
“On completion of the academy, will have gained a better understanding of the law enforcement role in the criminal justice system,” department spokesman Seth Tyler said in a press release. “And an appreciation for the many challenges facing law enforcement in today’s society.”
The Academy consists of one three-hour class per week held at 7 p.m. Thursdays, March 5-21.
Subjects covered will include patrol procedures, firearms, 911 communication, narcotics, K-9 units, major crimes investigations, major accident investigations, defensive tactics and hostage negotiations.
