The Bellevue Police Department recovered $65,000 worth of jewelry stolen from the Bellevue Square Nordstrom location last December.

The Bellevue Police Department recovered $65,000 worth of jewelry stolen from the Bellevue Square Nordstrom location last December.

Around 4 a.m. on December 28, 2015, a group of burglars drove a pickup truck through Nordstrom’s front doors, then used tools to break open the jewelry cases before fleeing the scene. In all, they stole over $200,000 worth of jewelry.

Detectives had previously been able to locate and charge four of the burglars and recover $40,000 worth of the stolen goods, but were unable to locate the majority of the jewels.

On June 10, the department served search warrants at locations in Burien and Des Moines and were able to recover another $65,000 in stolen jewelry, as well as the vehicle used in the crime.

There were no additional arrests at that time, but the department said more charges in the case are forthcoming.
