Bellevue has released an update on the conditions that dumped between 2 and 6 inches of snow in various parts of town Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Full details are below.

Although no roads are closed, Bellevue received 2-6 inches of snow, depending on the neighborhood. Combined with temperatures that dropped below freezing, the snowfall resulted in icing on many roadways and extremely difficult driving conditions. Drivers should allow extra time and use extreme caution.

Forecasts call for high temperatures in the low 30s Thursday, with the potential for an additional 2 inches of snowfall before tapering off in the evening. Temperatures overnight are forecast to drop into the low 20s, and driving conditions will likely continue to be difficult.

Crews have been operating all of the city’s plows and sanders round the clock and will continue to work until weather conditions improve. Due to ongoing snowfall, crews have focused on repeated plowing, sanding and de-icing of primary arterials and key commuter routes. They will begin working in the neighborhoods as soon as arterial roadway conditions and the weather allow.

Garbage may not be picked up in bad weather
Allied Waste trucks generally do not run if snow or ice prevent safe collection on neighborhood streets. If your garbage, recycling or yard debris are not collected, take materials back inside.

A double load of garbage, recycling and yard debris will be collected at no additional charge on the next regularly scheduled collection day (a week later).
