On Tuesday, Aug. 7, Bellevue residents will have the opportunity to join thousands of communities across the country for a national drug and crime prevention campaign, “National Night Out.”
Community members are invited to participate in a community event at the Bellevue Crossroads Farmers Market (in front of the old Circuit City) located on the eastside of Crossroads Mall, from noon to 6:30 p.m. the day of the event.
The purpose of the Night Out event is to raise awareness about crime and drug prevention, generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts, and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The Bellevue event is open to all ages and will feature prize giveaways, demonstrations by various public safety departments on ways to stay safe, entertainment and food. Community members are also encouraged to plan their own block parties and Night Out events throughout the Eastside.
