Bellevue Rotary searching for non-profit to benefit from annual auction

The Bellevue Rotary Club is seeking a non-profit organization that needs some money.

The Bellevue Rotary Club is seeking a non-profit organization that needs some money.

Each year the club picks a primary beneficiary for proceeds from its annual auction. One local non-profit receives 100 percent of the funds raised during the club’s “Fund An Item” portion of the auction and in addition, is eligible to receive up to 20 percent of the remaining net proceeds from the auction.

The next auction will be May 7, 2011.

To be considered as a beneficiary, the non-profit must:

Be a local non-profit 501(c)3 and provide significant services to the Eastside community.

Use the proceeds from the auction to fund a specific capital project or provide start up funds for a specific new program (the club will not consider supporting ongoing operating expenses for an existing program).

Have a governing board, staff and supporters willing and able to support the auction in the areas of audience development and auction item procurement.

Non-profits interested in applying should submit a written application by July 30, 2010.

Application should address at a minimum the following items:

The name and description of the organization, the services it provides and territory it covers

A description of the specific project to be funded

A summary of the organization’s annual budget, and how proceeds from the auction would assist the organization

A statement as to why the “organization’s compelling story” could support the auction in terms of audience development and auction item procurement

A short description of the organization’s most recent fundraising events or activities, amounts raised and the use of the proceeds

A description of its board, staff and supporters, and a brief discussion as to how the organization could support the auction in terms of audience development and auction item procurement

Questions about the application process may be e-mailed to bellevuerotary@seanet.com.

Applications should be sent to: Bellevue Rotary, 2010 Auction Beneficiary Applications, c/o Alan Fulp, P.O. Box 523, Bellevue, WA. 98004
