Bellevue Sail and Power Squadron will offer a number of boating classes.

A nine-week boating course will be held from 7-9 p.m. beginning Thursday, September 23. The last night is final test.

Covered topics include: Aids to Navigation, Boat Terms & Types, Boat Handling, Adverse Conditions, Piloting, Navigation Rules, Tides & Currents, and Government Regulations. The course meets the educational standards of the National Association of Boating Law Administrators. Everyone passing the final test can attain the Washington State Boater’s Card.

America’s Boating Class 3rd Edition will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, 25. This is an all-day eight-hour class.

Advanced boating classes and seminars are also scheduled. Participants do not need to be a member of Bellevue Sail & Power Squadron to take the classes.

Seamanship will be taught from 7-9 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 13 for approximately eight weeks.

Piloting will be taught from 7-9 p.m. beginning Tuesday, 21 September for approximately 10 weeks.

Junior Navigation will be taught at a time and date to be determined by the instructor.

Skipper Saver will be taught from 6-8 p.m. beginning Wednesday, September 22 for about five weeks.

A seminar on GPS will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 29. A seminar on VHF will be held from 6-8 p.m. on on Wednesday, October 6. A seminar on Radar will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13.
