The Bellevue School Board is expected to name a new superintendent at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 22.
The board will meet in executive session at 5 p.m. to discuss the qualifications of the candidates for the position of Superintendent.
That meeting will be followed with a public session at 6 p.m. to discuss and determine which candidate to extend a contract offer and authorize the initiation of negotiations of a contract.
The meetings will be held in the Rainier Room of the Wilburton Instructional Service Center, 12241 Main St.
The school district has named three finalists for the position. Each candidate visited the district for a day, touring the district and meeting with staff and the public. The candidates were asked a series of 14 questions covering the areas of common curriculum, leadership style, the achievement gap and others. The questions were gathered from input given by the Bellevue Schools Foundation, staff meetings, and the PTA. All three superintendent candidates were given the opportunity to answer the same 14 questions during the public forums.
