Charlotte Marckx, age 9, a fourth grader at Spiritridge Elementary in Bellevue, won first place in the Primary Division of the Seattle Music Teachers Association Simon Fiset Competition in 2010 and 2011.

She has been playing the violin for four years and has served as principal 2nd violin in the Seattle Youth Symphony Symphonette and Debut orchestras and is currently a member of the Debut 1st violin section.

Charlotte loves to read, and also enjoys animals of all kinds (especially snails).
