More than a thousand members of United States Power Squadrons will travel from all corners of the country to attend their fall Governing Board meeting, August 30 through September 4 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Bellevue.

The Power Squadrons promote safe, recreational boating through education classes and on-the-water training in every major U.S. boating area. The meetings to be held over several days include seminars and training sessions in seamanship, navigation and weather as well as administrative training.

The overall chair for the Bellevue event is Trudy Brown and the Governing Board meeting itself will be chaired by Chief Commander (national president) Frank Dvorak, both of Bellevue.

The week following the Governing Board meetings features a national cruise of some 60 boats captained by USPS members from around the US. The cruise will visit the San Juan Islands and Victoria and Sidney in British Columbia. Simultaneously, other members will enjoy a cruise ship visit to Alaska.
