Bellevue to keep severe weather shelter open over weekend

With the cold snap continuing, Bellevue plans to operate its severe weather shelter at the Crossroads Community Center Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Located at 16000 NE 10th St., and operated in partnership with Catholic Community Services and the Eastside Interfaith Social Concerns Council, the shelter will be open from 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. each night. It can accommodate up to 50 people.

Operating procedures

Doors for the severe weather shelter will open at 9:30 p.m. Clients must register at the door. As with all shelters, rules for the health and safety of all clients and staff will apply. Clients will be taken in from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., at which point the shelter will be locked. By 6:30 a.m., all clients must vacate the shelter.
