Almost 400 people crossed the finish line in the inaugural Newcastle 5K Run/Walk held Saturday, August 29 at Lake Boren Park.

17-year-old Eric Bice from Issaquah finished first with a time of 16:23. He was followed by 51-year-old Michael Smith from Renton with a time of 16:51.

The Newcastle 5K raised thousands of dollars to support future runs in Newcastle as well as a donation to the Hazen High School track and cross country programs. For a complete list of results, log on to www.newcastle5k.com.
