The newest installment of a three-part public art work project will be dedicated Saturday as part of the City of Bellevue’s Public Art Program.

Bruce Myers’ “Homage” is a series of images using seeds, pinecones, spirals, braiding and horses pays tribute to the city’s Bridle Trails neighborhood and its woodsy surroundings and equestrian culture.

Mayor Claudia Balducci will be joined by Myers, members of the bridle trails community and arts commissioners to celebrate the art installment’s unveiling starting at 11 a.m., Oct. 11.

The $35,000 art project, which features large boulders inlaid with bronze, or carvings, depicting local and equestrian themes, are spread out across three locations: near the corner of 120th Ave., Northeast and Northeast 24th street; 132 Ave., Northeast and Northeast 40th street; and 140th Ave. Northeast on the Bridle Crest Trail.

Following a vote from Bridle Trails residents, the city’s Neighborhood Enhancement Program set to work to find the right artist to capture the area’s essence, said public information officer David Grant.
