A Bellevue home slid off of its foundation and collapsed after a broken water main line flooded a residential neighborhood early in the morning on Jan. 17.
Bellevue Police Department reported that the landslide and flooding occurred on the 5000 block of 139th PI SE. Police reported that two people were rescued safely from the collapsed home.
Water continued to flood the neighborhood as authorities searched for the source. According to the BPD Twitter account, police helped evacuate at least 42 people and several pets from 17 homes before sunrise.
Authorities used an unmanned aerial drone to search for the source of the flooding that caused debris to spread throughout the neighborhood streets. Crews spent all morning cleaning debris off the street so they could be safely reopened.
No injuries have been reported by police.
