A burglary victim who was in her bed when she heard burglars in her home was able to call 911 and hide under her bed sheets to avoid being discovered, before police nabbed the two men following a K-9 search on Thursday.
The female resident heard two unknown men in the adjacent room of the house in the 4000 block of 149th Ave. SE and called police at 8:03 a.m., according to Bellevue police.
The victim was on the line with NORCOM dispatchers and hiding under her sheets when the suspects entered her bedroom and looked through her dresser drawers.
The men ran out the back door of the home when they heard police arrive. Following a K-9 track, a Bellevue motorcycle sergeant located the men, who matched the description of the suspects, walking along Southeast 36th Street. The officer detained one of the men, while the other suspect fled on foot. The suspect attempted to get into an occupied vehicle, however, the door was locked and the driver was able to get away, police said.
After a brief foot chase, additional officers took the second suspect into custody.
The suspects, a 21-year-old man from Renton and a 25-year-old Burien man, face burglary and obstruction charges.
