A Boys and Girls Club van t-boned a Blazer SUV in the 15200 block of Lake Hills Blvd at approximately 6:25 Friday night. Multiple witnesses started dialing 911 when the crash occurred reporting a bus filled with middle and high school aged students had just crashed into a vehicle and then a tree.

The bus had just left the Boys and Girls Club in the 15300 block of Lake Hills Blvd when the driver apparently had some type of medical event causing the bus to collide with an SUV driving westbound on Lake Hills Blvd. Some of the kids interviewed stated they saw the bus driver slump over just before the crash.

Initially the collision scene was chaotic with multiple police, fire and medical personnel. The passengers quickly exited the bus, as the medics assisted with the injured bus driver.

The 63-year-old driver and all 21 passengers were transported to Overlake Hospital. None of the passengers appeared to have serious injuries but were transported for precautionary purposes. It is unknown why the driver slumped over the wheel.

Investigation into the crash continues, but it appears that the cause was due to some type of medical situation.

The group was on their way to the Boys and Girls Club in South Bellevue at the time of the accident. There were several witnesses, including other staff members of the club that were following the bus.

The Bellevue Police Department will be completing an accident investigation and Washington State Patrol will be inspecting the bus. Any commercial vehicle involved in a collision with signification injuries is inspected by State Patrol.
