The American Cancer Society will hold its 8th annual
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Downtown Bellevue on Oct. 4.
The walk is a non-competitive 5k, which begins and ends in Downtown Bellevue Park, at 10201 N.E. Fourth Street.
There is no registration fee or minimum contribution to participate. People are asked to contribute at whatever level they feel comfortable with.
Food and booths also will be part of the event.
Walkers who organize a team will receive invitations to a kickoff breakfast sponsored by the cancer society. The breakfast will take place on Aug. 5 at Safeco field, and will feature speakers from the American Cancer Society, testimonials from cancer survivors, and more information on the walk.
Last year the event raised over $200,000 for cancer research and patient programs.
