The Eastside Compassionate Friends will host the annual World Wide Candle Lighting Ceremony at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13. The event allows family and friends to light candles for children who have died too soon of any age and any cause.

The program of remembrance with music and readings will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park Chapel, 1215 145th Place S.E. in Bellevue. Those who come between 6:30 and 6:45 can have their child’s name read aloud during the ceremony. Candles will be provided for everyone as well as a butterfly keepsake.

The program will be followed by a short reception.
