SeekingSitters will host the first Alex’s lemonade stand fundraiser in Bellevue on Aug. 23 in an effort to raise money for cancer research.
The event is named after a young cancer patient, “Alex” Scott, who helped organize a lemonade stand to raise money to find a cure for all children with cancer. In 2000, Alex’s Lemonade Stand was born. Alex passed away in 2004, but her lemonade stand lives on across the country as Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF)
SeekingSitters’ families and babysitters will be participating in the event, manning the lemonade stands in Bellevue and Seattle. All money raised will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
The Bellevue event will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Downtown Bellevue Park, 10201 N.E. Fourth St.
“Our mission as a business is to provide safe, reliable care for children throughout Seattle,” explained Lisa Rizza, owner of SeekingSitters of Seattle. “Helping raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer is the perfect fit for our company and a great way to teach our children about helping others.”
