Riding on last year’s success, the ChowDown(town) Bellevue Food Truck Round-up is coming back to Ashwood Park on Thursday, July 9.
The city started ChowDown(town) last year to promote Ashwood Park in the downtown neighborhood and give food trucks a place to come together. It was so popular that the city will do it again in August, said Jon Wilson, community services supervisor.
“That was the biggest thing we had was, ‘You should do it more often,’ ” he said. “Some wanted us to do it weekly.”
Food trucks will be serving up a global feast at Ashwood Park 3:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, with live music and entertainment from 5-8 p.m. The park is located at 10820 N.E. 10th St., and free parking is available at the adjacent Bellevue Library.
July vendors include: Skillet Street Food, Buns, The Ultimate Melt, Peasant Food Manifesto, Napkin Friends, Chopstix Mobile, Tokyo Dog, Falafel Salam, Ezell’s Express, Street Treats, Hot Revolution, Jemil’s Big Easy, Thai U Up and Fish Basket.
Live music will be provided 5-6 p.m. by the Panduo Steel Drum Band and 6:30-7:30 p.m. by Comfort Food, which blends African rhythms with jazz.
