Church to bless animals

St. Margaret’s Church will hold an ecumenical service celebrating the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5.

 

St. Margaret’s Church will hold an ecumenical service celebrating the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5.

The full Eucharist includes the music of Missa Gaia (Earth Mass), composed by Grammy-Award winning artist Paul Winter and others. It features Afro-Cuban drums, jazz harmonies, gospel styles, and traditional choral singing.

Pets are welcome to join the service and receive a blessing. They should have appropriate leashes and restraints as needed.
