During Monday’s study session the City Council will debate whether or not to authorize staff to go out to bid on further analysis of an altered B7 route for East Link light-rail through downtown.
The scope of work on this analysis proposes three phases. The first, a 5 percent conceptual design and engineering report, is estimated at approximately $670,000. The second phase, environmental analysis to the level of a Draft Environmental Impact Statement, would cost $450,000. The final phase, moving the analysis to 15 percent engineering, could run approximately $2.5 million, according to documents related to the item.
If passed, the scope of work would incorporate “check in” points in between each phase, which would allow the council to evaluate the analysis before green-lighting greater spending.
The council agreed to bring this scope of work for further review by a controversial 4-3 vote at its Sept. 13 meeting.
