City survey: what parks and recreation do you want?

Bellevue has prepared a five-minute, online survey to ask people how they currently use city parks and trails, and what types of parks and recreational facilities they would like to see in the future.

Planners with the Parks and Community Services Department are seeking input from anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Bellevue. The survey is accessible athttp://www.bellevuewa.gov/parks_homepage.htm or on the Bellevue Parks blog at http://www.bellevue-parks.blogspot.com. The blog invites other discussions with park users, too.

The Parks and Open Space System Plan will direct development of parks and open space over the next 10 years. It also considers the design and balance of programs and services supported by the department, and how these may change over time to meet the needs of the community.

Data collected through the survey will help ensure that community interests are accurately captured in the updated plan. In addition to the survey, public input is being gathered in a variety of ways – through the parks blog, presentations to community groups and other outreach methods.
