The Bellevue City Council is being asked by staff to approve a final payment of nearly $107,000 to the Eastgate Congregational United Church of Christ to settle a claim filed against the city last year when a root intrusion in the sewer main serving the church caused extensive flood damage.

The city has already paid for cleaning and repair costs, including restoration of personal property and fixing the heating system. Councilmembers will consider approving a final payout of $107,810.39 for a final settlement during their Monday meeting and through the consent agenda. The city’s risk manager has reviewed the claim and recommends settlement.
