Not-so-shortcut: The subject and his wife left their home at 1:30 p.m. for a doctor’s appointment. They never made it to the appointment and their son called because he was concerned. At 8:30 p.m., the wife called 911 stating she was lost and needed help getting home. They were found in Kirkland after being missing for missing for seven hours.
November 3
Surprise balloons: An officer spotted a subject riding a bicycle on Northup Way, and it was revealed he had two felony warrants for drugs and possession of a stolen vehicle. The suspect realized he was being watched and changed directions on his bicycle, briefly eluding the officer. After being spotted again, he fled on foot. He was located hiding in some bushes near 2606 116 Ave. N.E., where he was arrested and claimed he just ingested three balloons of heroin.
November 4
Fast, and police are furious: An officer was passed by a vehicle traveling in excess of 100 mph. The officer feared the suspect driver was going to seriously harm another motorist and attempted to stop the vehicle, but it initially failed to yield. The Washington State Patrol assisted with the stop, and the driver was arrested for DUI.
November 5
Getaway gone: Home Depot loss prevention detained a suspect for attempting to steal close to $1,000 worth of power tools. His getaway driver managed to get away, leaving the suspect alone in the parking lot holding the stolen tools. Upon arrest, the suspect quickly developed chest pains, and was transported to Overlake Hospital. Nearly as quickly as the suspect had developed the chest pains, ER staff medically cleared the suspect for transportation and booking at SCORE.
Ransacked: The victim returned home at 151st Court Southeast and found lights on in her home. It had been ransacked, and the suspects left a window and sliding door open. The victim reported $14,000 in cash and electronics missing from the house.
November 7
Jewel heist: The suspect(s) used a trail system behind the victim’s residence to gain entry into the back of the home. A rear sliding door had been forced open. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole approximately $60,000 in jewelry.
Repeat offender: The victim reports the unknown suspect(s) gained entry into their residence. At the time of reporting it was unknown what, if anything, was taken. This home adjoins the same trail system as the previous burglary.
November 8
Field trip: The subject was working in his home office and his four-year-old daughter was coloring and watching TV in other room. At some point, she exited the apartment and walked to QFC. Upon realizing his daughter was gone from the apartment and not being able to locate her in immediate area of the apartment, he called the police, who quickly found the child. In was unknown at press time how long a time-out the child had received.
Where’s the fire?: The resident was woken up by her house alarm when a subject pried her rear door open. The suspect fled, but was not located. He possibly took a hose from the victim.
