Bad date: A woman called 911 to report that she met a male online and went on a date, and that the suspect made the victim withdraw $100 from her bank account before fleeing in his car.
July 6
Naked dash: Officers responded to reports of a naked man running in traffic on Forest Drive. The subject was possibly mentally ill. After minor use of force, the subject was transported to the hospital.
Road rage: A woman reported that a male subject brandished a handgun at her after a road rage incident. She followed the male as he traveled northbound on 148th Avenue. They eventually entered eastbound State Route 520, and officers were finally able to stop the suspect’s vehicle on the Northeast 40th Street off-ramp and detain the driver. The suspect had a loaded 9mm handgun from his glove box and has a valid concealed pistol license. The suspect was arrested and interviewed and released at the scene.
July 7
Deer whisperer: Officers initially found a male subject wandering near the retaining pond at Newport Way and 130th Avenue Southeast. He was behaving strangely and claimed to own the pond, but he asked for a ride to his residence, which the officers provided him. A few hours later, he had returned to the pond area and officers discovered that he had forced the gate open and had let some deer into the secure area. The subject again claimed that he owned the pond, but also admitted to having recently smoked marijuana and was making nonsensical comments to the officers. He was eventually transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
Sweeping psychosis: Callers reported a subject in the roadway on 156th Avenue Northeast swinging a broom at passing cars on 156th Avenue Northeast. Officers found her in the road and when she saw them, she fled into the nearby apartments. She was cornered in the lot and she began yelling, “Don’t eat me,” while was kicking and screaming. The woman was transported to the hospital.
July 8
Man drags woman: Officers responded to the Wilburton Park and Ride after staff from a nearby hotel reported seeing a male dragging a female into his vehicle. The subject was located with his girlfriend and was arrested for domestic violence assault. During his arrest, he kicked two officers and the patrol car window bars, damaging them. None of the involved officers were seriously hurt.
