Bellevue Deputy Police Chief Jolliffe has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the results on an internal investigation, police confirm.
Police would not elaborate on the nature of the investigation as it is ongoing, according to spokesperson Seth Tyler. The department is currently working to identify an outside agency to conduct an impartial investigation into the allegations, which involves performance issues related to his position as Deputy Chief.
“As a result of performance issues recently brought to the attention to Chief Mylett, Deputy Chief J. Jolliffe has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation. While we cannot comment on an active investigation, Chief Mylett wants to ensure the public these performance issues do not involve violations of the public’s trust,” Tyler said in an email.
