Downtown Farmers Market opens today

Bellevue Farmers Market Thursday will open today for the season and is relocating back to the original site at the First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue at 1717 Bellevue Way NE. Hours are 3-7 p.m.

Bellevue Farmers Market Saturday will open June 5 and is relocating to a new site at Washington Square at 106th Ave Northeast and NE Eighth Street. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A Farmers Market at Crossroads Bellevue will open May 25 through Oct. 5. Hours are noon to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the rear of the mall at 156th Avenue Northeast and Northeast Eighth Street.

This is the seventh season for the Downtown Farmers Market that features local farm products including organic grass-fed beef, rhubarb, fresh local asparagus, spring greens, organic pork and chicken, shellfish, farmstead cheese, flower bouquets, artisan breads, freshly foraged fiddlehead ferns and spring nettles, spring carrots and radishes, greenhouse heirloom tomatoes, handcrafted ciders, berries, fruit, organic produce, tuna, salmon, hazelnuts, honey, veggie and herb starts and more.

Live music by the Haggis Brothers and face painting for children will be offered on opening day and KidsQuest Museum will offer beading activity for kids.

There is free parking on site.

Several restaurants will offer food during dinner time, including Veraci’s wood-fired pizza from their stone oven, Hermosa Mexican Food’s authentic tamales, Got Soup? with their homemade farm ingredient creations and Anita’s Crepes.

The farmers market season will run to Oct. 14 for the Thursday market and from June 5 to Nov. 20 for the Saturday market.
