Bellevue resident Jordan Chin successfully completed a blood drive with the Puget Sound Blood Center (PSBC) for an Eagle Scout project in April.
Chin managed to attract 74 donors for the event, which took place April 17 at three locations: The LDS Church in Factoria, the LDS Stake Center in South Bellevue and the South Bellevue Community Center.
PSBC requires at least 65 donors – 30 percent of whom must be first-time donors – for an official blood drive.
The event brought in 51 pints of blood for the center.
PSBC staff commended Chin for going above and beyond by providing food and entertainment for the donors and workers, supplying gift packages with his own personalized fortune cookies, and involving a Girl Scout troop to help its members receive service credits.
