Eastside Association of Fine Arts (EAFA) is opening a new Fine Arts Gallery at the Seattle Design Center.

EAFA is a nonprofit art organization serving the Eastside for 35 years. It is run by a supportive body of artists, providing a unique opportunity for fellowship, education, charitable projects, monthly meetings, regular exhibitions and promotion of fine art within the Puget Sound area. EAFA is proud to have more than 450 members, ranging from emerging to established artists, and as a group, is recognized for producing some of the highest quality local art exhibitions in the Greater Seattle Area.

The Seattle Design Center is a premier resource for designers, offering 65 showrooms of the finest custom furnishings and fixtures. The Design Center has offered EAFA the opportunity to utilize showroom #A239 in the Atrium Building as a fine art exhibition space for a six-month period.

There will be rotating exhibitions between December and June, all of which will be juried to maintain the highest quality work, and will showcase art for sale by some of the best artists in the area.

Currently, EAFA Gallery is holding Exhibit 1 up through Jan. 21, 2011, with 48 artists and over 185 works of art on display. Beginning Jan. 26 and running through Feb. 26, 2011, EAFA Gallery will be hosting an open juried Abstract Show.
