The Bellevue Schools Foundation will present three programs on education topics in March, April and May. All will be held in the Rainier Room at the Wilburton Instructional Service Center, 12241 Main St.
A complimentary lunch will be provided by students in Newport High School’s Culinary Arts Program.
School Funding 101, from noon to 1 p.m. March 29, will feature school finance consultant and former Bellevue administrator Howard Johnson, who will make school funding understandable.
The Arts will be the topic noon to 1 p.m. April 26. Una McAlinden, Executive Director of ArtsEd Washington and a Bellevue parent; and Pam Schroeder, Bellevue School District Arts Coordinator, will discuss that arts are part of “basic education” in Washington state and how such programs impact student engagement and success.
Technology for Academic Success will be the topic from noon to 1 p.m. on May 31. Carl Sweetland, Bellevue School District’s Director of Technology, will discuss the technology being used in our schools, how it impacts student learning, and what’s on the horizon. Microsoft’s Kevin Wang will share the innovative and exciting TEALS program, which brings technology leaders into the schools to teach computer science.
