Job seekers and local employers are invited to attend the Diversity Employment Workshop on Tuesday, March 27, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Crossroads Community Center, 16000 NE 10th St.

Employers will provide information about current and future job openings and job seekers will have a chance to network with employers and receive tips on how to find employment.

The program will feature guest speaker Fancy Frenchwood, a talent acquisition manager in the technology industry. Frenchwood is a former member of the Boeing Co. Diversity Council and she will talk about social networking and social media as a means of recruiting diversity to the workforce.

Local employers will be on hand to share information about current and future job openings at their organization, and participants are encouraged to bring copies of their current resume to share with perspective employers. The types of openings presented by employers will range from unskilled, entry-level positions to upper level management jobs.  They include part-time, full-time, temporary and permanent positions.

Expected employers include: Bellevue College, Eddie Bauer, Community Healthplan of Washington, Orion Industries, Riverstone Residential, Neighborhood House, Ajilon Professional Staffing, Highline Community College, Alaskan Copper, Equity World, Volt  Workforce Solutions and Washington State Employment Security.

The event is part of the Puget Sound Diversity Network meeting series to educate employers about how to increase the job applicant pool and increase diversity in the workforce. The program is co-sponsored by the Puget Sound Diversity Employment Network and City of Bellevue Parks & Community Services Cultural Diversity Program.
