To compete with other school districts who are vying for Seattle Schools interim supt., Susan Enfield, the Bellevue School Board announced today that it will seriously be considering Enfield as a replacement to Amalia Cudeiro.
“We have reason to believe other districts have made her offers,” said district spokesperson Jacque Coe.
This morning, the school board met to discuss and decide on a possible course of action for “public acknowledgement” of candidates in the superintendent search process.
The board passed a motion to authorize board president Paul Mills to tell Enfield that the school board considers her to be a strong candidate for the Bellevue superintendent position, and will consider an accelerated interview process for her pending completion of community input forums.
Enfield has expressed interest in the position, and was a finalist in the 2008 superintendent search process.
The public is invited to attend the input sessions, which will be held at 5:30 p.m., Feb. 14 at the Wilburton Center Board room, 12241 Main St. and at 7 p.m., Feb. 16 at Sammamish High School’s Performing Arts Center, 100 140th Ave. SE.
Additionally, staff and community are encouraged to email the board at board@bsd405.org with their input. Please putt ‘Supt. Search’ in the subject line.
Thus far, a number of candidates have applied.
