To promote Collaborative Law Awareness Week, professionals from north and east Puget Sound areas will be speaking to the public and handing out information about collaborative divorce and healthy communication at several Bellevue locations this week.
Central collaborative law principles are based on an agreement by clients to reach a resolution without court intervention or threatening court intervention. Gov. Chris Gregoire signed a proclamation designating Collaborative Law Awareness Day to be September 22 and Collaborative Law Awareness Week to be Sept. 20 through Sept. 26.
To bring awareness to Collaborative Awareness Week, a book and informational fair will be held at the Bellevue Square and Factoria Mall Jamba Juice locations on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The event will be held by representatives of several non-profit Collaborative Law organizations in Washington including; Collaborative Professionals of WA, King County Collaborative Law, Eastside Collaborative Family Law, North Sound Collaborative Law, 425 Collaborative Law Group, Compass Collaborative Law Group, Sammamish Collaborative, and Cascadia Collaborative Family Law.
The purpose of the event is to educate the community about alternatives to litigation, including collaborative processes and to promote healthy communication in families, businesses, and in the community.
Jamba Juice will donate 20 percent of sales from coupons to the organization during the day-long event. The coupons will be available at the Collaborative Law table along with pamphlets, books and live conversation about the topic.
