Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) has grown into a global event, now being hosted in over 100 cities and 15 countries. This free event was created in 2009 with a partnership between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy, and put the fun back in shopping.
From Manhattan to Milan, Bellevue to Sydney, fashion events will be taking place from 6-10 p.m. Sept. 8. On the Eastside, The Shops at the Bravern and The Bellevue Collection are planning many in-store fashionable events.
Neiman Marcus will present a runway fashion show with professional models wearing the hottest 2011 fall trends on level two at 6:30 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m. They added a second show this year, as last year’s show was S.R.O. and extremely crowded.
In the accessories department on level one, six teams of students from the Seattle Art Institute will each style a mannequin based on the Neiman Marcus trends for fall. Guests will be able to determine which team has the skills to be the best fashion stylists using fall’s best looks.
From 6-9 p.m. Couture Cocktails will be served in the Mariposa Restaurant on level three at Happy Hour prices, with live music in the background.
When arriving at The Bravern, guests will have the opportunity to walk the red-carpet and receive the celebrity treatment as photographers snap photos. Many of the retailers will be offering special in-store offers, followed by the much anticipated after-party at the David Barton Gym.

The Bellevue Collection – Bellevue Square, Lincoln Square and Bellevue Place – will celebrate Fashion’s Night Out from 7-10 p.m. with many in-store events, exclusive offers, special rewards for first arrivals, tasty bites and an exclusive fashion exhibit “Nordic Fashion Biennale: Curator’s Cut.”
This exhibit is a preview of the Nordic Fashion Biennale (NFB) 2011, coming to the Nordic Heritage Museum Sept. 30 to Nov. 12. This installation is the creative work of the NFB’s guest curator, New York-based Icelandic artist Hrafnhildur Arnardottir, known for her collaboration with Bjork, along with commissioned work at MOMA in New York.
Be sure to mark your calendars, as FNO promises to be a memorable evening celebrating our love of fashion.
