An early morning fire destroyed a house in the Enatai area Sunday. Several callers reported seeing large amounts of fire and smoke and hearing explosions in the 3200 block of 112th Avenue Southeast. A neighbor called 911 to report the whole house was on fire.
The first crews on scene found a two story home with flames visible from the windows and walls of the first and second floors. Portions of the roof and the second floor had collapsed. It was quickly determined that the crews could not enter the structure.
Bellevue and Mercer Island firefighters worked for 38 minutes to control the fire.
Three vehicles were found in the garage of the structure. It is unknown if the home was occupied at the time of the fire. Attempts have been made to contact the owners of the home.
Fire and police investigators worked together to determine the fire’s origin and cause. Investigators requested a structural engineer to determine how best to investigate the interior of the home.
The home is damaged beyond repair. No estimate of damage has been made.
