A family of four Lake Hills residents have been displaced after a large fire swept through their house early Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to the fire in the 1300 block of 144th Ave SE around 3:30 a.m. When they arrived, heavy flames were visible on the front, rear and north side of the two-story house.
Smoke alarms had reportedly alerted the inhabitants of the fire, and they were able to evacuate the home. They were evaluated by medical personnel for minor smoke inhalation, but no one was seriously injured.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in 21 minutes. The damage to the structure was significant, but no monestary value has determined at this time.
The cause and origin of the blaze was under investigation at press time.
