Five Bellevue Seniors who have earned their Eagle Scout awards celebrated at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony at South Bellevue Community Center on Jan. 3.
The five, all from Troop 626, are Matt Anderson, JT Farmer, Evan Griffith, Jonathan Pyke, and Billy Palmer.
Over 200 Scouts, friends, and family members attended the ceremony, which was highlighted by Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna’s address to the Scouts, reminding them of their responsibility to contribute to society and give back to Scouting in the future.
Anderson, Farmer, and Griffith attended the National Scout Jamboree in Fort A.P. Hill in 2005 together and were joined by Pyke at Philmont National Scout Ranch where they trekked 88 miles together in the summer of 2007.
Last summer Anderson and Pyke summited Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainier as part of High Adventure Scouting based at Camp Sheppard.
All have carried out Eagle service projects in the community, ranging from a blood drive, painting playground maps for elementary schools, landscape restoration at church and restoration of salmon habitat.
