Forum to discuss safety, livability in downtown Bellevue

The city of Bellevue Police Department and Neighborhood Outreach will host a community forum for downtown residents from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 23 at the Bellevue Regional Library,

Room 1.

Police Chief Linda Pillo and officers of the Bellevue Police Department, code compliance and other city staff will participate in an interactive discussion about the safety and livability of the downtown area.

Nearly 7000 residents live in the downtown core, with that number expected to double by 2020.

The forum will address personal safety, auto crimes, identity theft, noise code enforcement and protection against crime. Police also will share their insights and strategies on community policing, block watch, neighborhood services and community relations issues.

Residents will be invited to voice any questions, concerns or suggestions they have about downtown living or about relations with the city and the police.
