Friends of Youth honors key supporters

Friends of Youth celebrated its 60th Anniversary at a reception at Bellevue’s Harbor Club on May 18 by honoring a number of key supporters.

 

Friends of Youth celebrated its 60th Anniversary at a reception at Bellevue’s Harbor Club on May 18 by honoring a number of key supporters.

Those honored included:

Teresa Dahl, a 15-year board member of the agency, was given the Legacy Board Award, to honor extraordinary board service that goes above and beyond the expectations and sets a standard for dedication and commitment.

The Legacy Staff Award, recognizing a staff member whose dedication, devotion and excellence has left a legacy that endures far past their tenure, was presented to J. Howard Finck for his 26-year career at Friends of Youth.

Legacy Supporter Awards, recognizing an individual or group that has provided lasting and meaningful support to Friends of Youth were presented to the Rainier Unit of Friends of Youth, accepted by Dorothy Allen, a 50-year member of the unit that has provided ongoing support for the agency’s work; and Mary Fleckenstein Simpson, a board member of the Friends of Youth Foundation and co-chair of the agency’s successful 2001 capital campaign for the Griffin Home Campus in Renton.
