Hope For Horses Rescue will hold a fundraiser to benefit rescued horses from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 7 at Gold Creek Equestrian Center, 16528 148th Ave. NE in Woodinville.

The event, a “Name-Your-Price Tack Sale,” will provide provide affordable goods for horse owners while fundraising for horse rescue.

The nonprofit group said that the tough economy increases the financial challenge of keeping horses. By making the sale “name-your-price,” horse owners on a tight budget can acquire needed items, such as winter blankets, halters, heated water buckets and fly sheets, at a price that fits anyone’s budget.

“This may be the only way that some folks can provide optimal care for their horses this coming winter,” said Jenny Edwards, co-founder of the organization. “Many people are struggling with basic costs of keeping horses during this long recession.”

The variety of items at the sale includes bridles, grooming supplies, saddles, buckets, coolers, fly sheets, saddle pads and more. All funds raised will support the care of rescue horses.
