Culinary Journey, a five-course dinner menu showcasing the area’s top chefs, will serve as a fundraiser for The Sophia Way, an organization that helps homeless women.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. April 28 under a tent at the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland.

Each chef will create a five-course meal complemented by specially selected Northwest wines for a table of 11 people. Each table will reflect the chef’s individual design. Guests will have the exclusive chance to meet the chefs responsible for the evening’s culinary delights.

A wine silent auction will be conducted during the cocktail hour and a mini live auction will take place during dinner.

Guest chefs include Brandon Bretz (Woodland Park Zoo/Lancer Catering), Steve Cain (El Gaucho), Dalis Chea (Fresh Bistro), Michael Heaps (Sullivan’s Steakhouse), Tiffany Layco (Library Bistro at The Alexis), Peter Levine (Waterfront Seafood Grill), Jason McClure (Sazerac), Darren McNally (bin on the lake), Chris Michel (Monsoon), Nick Musser (Icon Grill), Thoa Nguyen (Thoa’s Restaurant & Lounge), and Judy Tallant (Tallant House).

Brad Goode, anchor from KING5 News will serve as emcee. Entertainment will be provided by Leah Natale and Ambience, playing jazz.

“This dinner, which we hope will become an annual celebration, is called a journey to underscore the journey taken by each woman as she transitions from homelessness to independence,” said Helen Payton, fund development coordinator for The Sophia Way. “People are sometimes surprised to learn that homelessness exists on the Eastside.”

Payton noted that in the past 2 ½ years, more than 388 women have requested services from The Sophia Way and that its clients come from 22 communities from across East King County.

Tickets are $125 per person and are available by calling 425-463-6285 or by visiting www.sophiaway.org.

Proceeds will benefit the programs and services of the The Sophia Way, a program of the Eastside Interfaith Social Concerns Council.
