A fire Sunday night damaged a Bellevue home in the Wilburton neighborhood. No one was home at the time of the fire, but neighbors reported the blaze at about 11:45 p.m. after hearing popping sounds and seeing flames. The fire occurred in the 12800 block of Southeast Second Street.
The garage was heavily damaged, but the rest of the structure was left mostly undamaged. No one was home at the time of the fire. However, the homeowner did arrive shortly after the fire was extinguished.
A total of two fire engines and two ladder trucks responded to the fire. Also on scene was a command vehicle, a medical officer, two aid cars and a medic unit. There were no injuries to fire crews.
A Bellevue Fire investigator arrived on scene and began the investigation. Preliminary damage estimate is $100,000. There is no preliminary cause to report.
