Garone seeks seat on Medina City Council

Jennifer Garone has filed to run for the Medina City Council. She is challenging incumbent Patrick Boyd for Position 5.

Jennifer Garone has filed to run for the Medina City Council. She is challenging incumbent Patrick Boyd for Position 5.

The race won’t be on the Primary ballot as both candidates automatically advance to the General election.

Garone is a member of the Medina Planning Commission. She also has headed up the Medina Elementary School Newcomer’s Committee in 2011 and 2012 and has been a parent advisor for the Bellevue High School class of 2016.

Garone works at Microsoft as a Principal Privacy Strategist in the IT group and has been with the company for five years. In 2012 she received the Microsoft Engineering Excellence privacy award.

“I want to be a part of a council that works tirelessly in a professional manner to reflect the views of the citizens of our city,” Garone said in a statement. “We have invested our time and energy to make Medina our home and, if you put me on the City Council, I will never forget that what is good for the city is what the city residents want.”

Garone is married and has two children. She was born in New York, educated at Hofstra (BA) and Harvard. In her free time, she runs, skis and reads.
